Available Internal Awards
Incoming students who are not awarded a major scholarship such as a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, Ontario Graduate Scholarship or a Canadian Institutes of Health Research for the upcoming academic year, may apply for other scholarships such as the OGSST and/or the SGS Restricted Awards. Note that most of the scholarships are only available to domestic students. Please carefully review the eligibility.
Ontario Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (OGSST)
The Ontario Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (OGSST) program is designed to encourage excellence in graduate studies in science and technology. The program is supported through funds provided by the province of Ontario and by funds raised by the University of Toronto from the private sector. Colin Hahnemann Bayley Fellowship in Chemistry
The Bayley Fellowship is awarded on the basis of academic excellence to an incoming graduate student.
Value:
The value of the Scholarship is $21,000, payable in three equal installments (September, January and May), plus research and teaching assistantships. The Bayley Fellow must be in full-time attendance for a minimum of three months in any term during which they hold the award. Repayment of the award will be required if full-time attendance is less than three months, or if the student transfers to another department.
Conditions of Award:
Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to an incoming graduate student. If the student is entering a Master's program, he/she will hold the Fellowship for a period of two years. If the student is entering a Ph.D. program, he/she will hold the Fellowship during the final two years of the Ph.D. program. The student will be known as the Colin Hahnemann Bayley Fellow. Scholarship entitles you to a reduction in your obligatory teaching assistantship to 100 hours over the academic session.
Eligibility:
- There is no restriction with respect to citizenship or status in Canada.
- The Bayley is awarded to an incoming graduate student.

Application Deadline:
Application is not required. The winner is selected from the incoming class. Next nominee will be chosen in 2010-2011.
